Gorgeous Victorian bride's basket dates to 1892-1898 and features intricate lacey openwork on a rectangular basket with wavey edges. The handle is also rectangular in shape with more open work and an engraved initial that I can't quite make out. Tha one side of the basket is marked 'Made in England".
The octagon base is footed with its own openwork design.
The bottom is marked "BSCEP"which is Barbour Silver Co. Electroplate. There are three stars in a row; the numbers 6626; and the figural symbols: griffon, thistle, an arm rising from a turret.
Measures 12 1/4"H x 8 1/2" Widest point.
