Amazing 1800s hand bound suede leather book, "Cranford" by Mrs. Gaskell.
Cranford is one of the better-known novels of the 19th-century English writer Elizabeth Gaskell.
The cover was originally a forest green suede with the edges and binding fading into brown. Areas of the edges are a bit shabby, but is all intact. A hand painted purple flower and hand lettered "Cranford" are on the front, the back is bare.
Opening the front and back cover reveals green wood grain pages permanently attached to the suede. No missing pages that I can see. The title page is torn, but all other pages are good. Still retains the red book marker.
